It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven world titles have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

If this latest epic knock topped that previous effort can be debated.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there the batsman was in motion.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success coming after success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they left last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is anticipated as her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
